Learn More About Denton ISD

Denton Independent School District is committed to empowering lifelong learners to be engaged citizens who positively impact their local and global community. And we couldn’t be more proud to be zoned to Denton ISD’s incredible schools! Sandbrock Ranch residents attend Braswell High School, Rodriguez Middle School and Union Park Elementary. We are also partnering with Denton ISD to build an on-site elementary school in our community!

Since its founding in 1882, Denton ISD has remained committed to providing a quality education for school age students. The district currently encompasses 180 square miles and contains all or part of 18 cities, communities and major developments. It includes four comprehensive high schools, eight middle schools, 23 elementary schools, two early childhood centers, an alternative high school, an advanced technology complex and other specialized schools and centers. Denton ISD continues to grow and is in fact one of the fastest-growing school districts in North Texas. Although it geographically covers a large area, Denton ISD has retained a special small town community environment while being able to offer all the programs available at larger school districts in the DFW Metroplex.

Denton ISD serves over 29,000 students in grades PK and K through 12. The student-teacher ratio is 14 to 1 and teachers have 10.9 years average experience. The four-year graduation rate is 94.7%, compared to the statewide rate of 89.7%.

Denton ISD prides itself on its outstanding school facilities and demands excellence in its educational programs. Voters have reflected their support of the acclaimed district by passing four bond packages totaling more than $1.3 billion in the past 12 years. The most recent bond proposal was passed in May of 2018 and will provide $750.5 million towards projects for growth, renovation and replacement, career and technical education, and safety and infrastructure. This will address growth in the district through renovations to existing campuses, CTE facilities, infrastructure, security systems and extracurricular classrooms and facilities.
